  1. Yes, I am an animal lover and i reckon PeTA is straight from hell. Their tactics are borderline terrorism.

  2. I belong to the other PETA: People Intake Tasty Animals.

I eat meat and I eat at places like KFC that “have cruel deaths of animals” in PETA’s view. But if an animal is in the street I’ll slam on my breaks to avoid it. Even if it means life rear-finished. I like animals, they’re cute, can be playful, and some of them go excellent.

  3. American The upper classes for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
    (ASPCA)

  4. I reckon it is not possible to like animals in a healthy way and still support PETA.

  5. I am a very strong animal lover and work against cruelty and abuse. I don’t like PETA because of their extreme activities and such. They really do more harm for the cause, due to some of the over the top things they do. A lot of animal lovers don’t like them. The ASPCA is really excellent. I support them.

  6. No! peta is a terible oganization.
ok, i eat from maccies but arent cows designed to be eaten by the human kind.
but animals like dogs, cats, pet rats, parrots e.t.c arn’t designed for intake or abuse, they are designed to live

  7. Certainly. My definition of life kind to a dog would be making sure it is fed, has a warm doghouse out of the wind, petting it, and generally treating it kindly. PETA’s definition would be ration it caviar, buying it designer jeans, and charitable it my bed (leaving me with the doghouse).

PETA is just plain nuts, no question. I would advise you to support your local animal shelter instead. They do fantastic work, and they always appreciate the community’s financial and moral support.

  8. Yes, absolutely.

There is a much older organization called the ASPCA. They’re like PETA, but sane and rational. They work to prevent CRUELTY to animals. PETA facility to apply ETHICS to animals, which leads to all kinds of wacky, unfounded conclusions.
And PETA’s methods just isolates them. They are moralists on par with the religious right.

Find a local chapter of the Assoc. to Prevent Cruelty to Animals.

  9. Of course you can. I like animals but I have a problem with the extremes that PETA goes to at era.

  10. PETA is a bit wacky and some of their thoughts really hurt animals more than help them – for example telltale people to where synthetic clothing is more harmful to the environment than in something like wool or even leather (the cows are killed for food so may as well use all of them)
They also dont see the certainty in what they do… they have set caged lab animals “free” in an areas where it was too cold for them, there was no fresh water, and no food – so these animals suffered emmensely.
I could go on and on but have to go to work

Support your local SPCA or Humane The upper classes they REALLY care about animals not just getting their name in the newspaper or on TV

  11. Of course it is. PETA gets a small far out there, perhaps to make convincing points, but really can get far out there. I wear leather shoes, eat meat, believe in animal research, and I like my dog like a child. And, PETA contridicts itself with fantastic regularity. They DO place animals down in their own shelters, and they DO many other things that, in general, help animals as a whole, but not the individual. Of course, PETA does not want you to know all that they do.

  12. You could always find a rescue group in your area. They are always keen for volunteers in either fostering, playing, mailing out info, or just talking to people about the animals at adoption fairs.

  13. I like animals but I reckon the PETA people are so far off the deep end they don’t even know which way is up!! I mean, you can like and take care of animals without making them GOD!!! PETA people have nothing better to do with their time than run around making animals the excellent guys and the human race the terrible guys, even tho most people they target like and care for their animals.

  14. WHAT IS PETA??? Maybe if I knew then I could answer?

  15. PeTA are an extremist group of animal welfare activists and have small if anything to do with like of animals. If PeTA had its way, no one would be able to have a pet of any kind as it sees pets as an exploitation of animals for human enjoyment. PeTA are against the use of any animal for human gain, whether it be food, medical research, sport, gambling, farming or enjoyment.

The RSPCA in UK, PDSA and the WWF are all noble organisations without extremist views. They are all there to help people help animals.

One thing that we must all remember that just because we have cats, dogs, rats, horses etc as pets and like them doesnt meen that different cultures do. It does not make someone terrible because they view a dog as food rather than a pet! We eat cows, sheep and pigs – to some beliefs these are godlike and to others consideded to dirty to eat. But thats all to do with the interpritation of religeous scriptures….and thats a completely different question.

  16. What are you people talking about!?!?!?!?!

PETA is an organization that exists to PREVENT cruelty to animals and are really OPPOSED to the evils such as animals in laboratories, factory farms etc…

They are an organization of excellent people who care about animals and campaign PEACEFULLY to bring about changes in the law preventing people from kidnapping/torturing/killing them in brutal ways.

There may be some organisations that resort to doing this by way of intimidation etc, but I assure you that PETA are not one of these. They are a PEACEFUL organization.

    Don’t believe me?

What have you all been smoking?!?

EDIT: And ‘Joker’.. you seem to dismiss the thought that chickens suffer under KFC. I invite you to visit and see for physically.

  17. Absolutely! I adore animals and have worked with rescues from herp to dog to equine. But I DETEST PETA! Sometimes I reckon they pull conclusions out of the air just to rile people up. I remember when I was a kid I was convinced that I shouldn’t use any shampoos, toothpaste, anything…PETA had me convinced that all the companies that manufactured those products was Satan himself!

While I really support any legislation to prevent animal cruelty (you must ahve seen my writing reps on horse slaughter)…I for one am not going to stand outside of McDonald’s and boycott them…as PETA questioned their members to do…and to place the dread of God in a small kid’s heart because they like a burger or chicken nuggets!

My advice? Help a rescue, write lawmakers on a local level, join the SPCA or the World Wildlife Fund or the Audobon The upper classes…but don’t go to psychotically extreme measures like PETA does!

  18. of course you can care about animals without belonging to one particular organization or another. no organization has a monopoly on compassion.

the SPCA and the Humane The upper classes are both fantastic examples.
