When on a vegan diet, do you need to count calories to loose weight?

I heard tһаt vegans stay naturally thin without counting calories bесаυѕе tһеу dont һаνе lots οf tokins οr tеrrіbƖе foods (cause mοѕt non animal product foods аrе healthy).

Sο, іf Im trying tο loose weight οח a vegan diet, ԁο I really need tο count calories? (If ѕο, һοw many mυѕt I һаνе daily?)

Thankfulness :]

PS) *Im חοt going vegan strictly tοο loose weight, Im going fοr animal rights аחԁ general health reasons, weight loss іѕ јυѕt аח added bonus!

  1. Yes, you still need to count calories. There’s plenty of ways to be vegan and still consume empty calories, and even too much of a excellent thing can make you gain weight. The excellent news is that if you’re intake vegetables, it’ll take a lot more food to get up to your daily calorie quota than if you were intake meat and dairy, so you’ll be able to eat more and still lose weight.

You must look up how many calories you need based on your gender, height, weight, activity level, and how much you want to lose.

Here’s a link to the Mayo Clinic’s calorie calculator:

    Hope that helps!

  2. I’ve said it 1,000,000 era before: veganism is not a weight loss diet.

Look, losing weight is simple math: burn more calories than you consume. For the purposes of losing weight, it doesn’t matter what those calories are made up of. You can still eat a lot of calories worth of healthy foods, and not all vegan foods are healthy (hello, potato chips…)

Nobody has to *count* calories to lose weight, but they do have to come up with some way of consuming fewer calories or burning more calories. Vegans (who are not all naturally thin by a LONG SHOT) included.

  3. veganism isnt´s a way to live just to loose weight. but it´s right that most vegans are pretty excellent with their weight, but you could eat potatoe chips and avocado and vega cakes all day and totaly be an obese vegan, but most of us don´t do that! you could cound calories, but it´s not the easyest thing to do when you eat a whole foods, not pacaged food diet. just know what foods have the least amount of calories and depend on those to fill up your belly, and exersise a lot. but you might wanna check out calories of fruits and vegetables online(l´m sure there´s a website for that) if you really want to.
